Well, the studio project is done...tracking that is. We finished on Tuesday night and made it safely home on Wednesday. We finally settled on our 10 favorite songs for the album and all four of us love each song. Hopefully you'll feel the same. Our CD is set to be mixed at Sound Kitchen in Nashville January 9-12, then it will be mastered, and then it will be done. We will have a photo shoot for the album cover and insert, then send it off to be copied. The CD's should be ready by late February and we'll let you know exactly when the CD release party is and when they hit the shelves.

It's good to be home. We are all happy to be back with family and friends and we had a great time at the show on Friday night. Thanks so much to all of you who came out and rocked with us. You guys were so cool at the show, rocking out to songs that you don't even know. :) We're going to take the holidays off and see what happens when we get our CD's in. We'll let you know of any events that come up and keep you posted on the CD progress.

Merry Christmas,
Adam

I'm writing to you from the inside...the studio, that is. We're here at Maximedia Productions Group Studios in Dallas, TX and we're having a blast. This studio is ridiculous. It is sooo nice. It's only about 3 years old, but it's already gaining the rep as one of the premier studios in Texas. We're tracking in the A room with an SSL 4000 console and just about every type of mic you could imagine. God has really blessed us with great experiences in these two studios we've used. Quad was smaller and more intimate while this place is huge and totaly rock n roll...it's cool. :)

Jordan has been tracking drums all day and Tay is tracking bass right now. We decided to slim our CD to 11 tracks so we hope you still buy it. I truly hope you enjoy the CD as much as we do. I am really surprised that all of us LOVE each song as much as we do, but it's true. We just found out that Chuck's new manager is really tight with Gotee Records, so he will pitch our CD to them as soon as it's finished. I still don't know what's on the horizon for us, but I do think God will use this project, our hard work, and your support to minister to more people than we can imagine right now.

Ok, I have to get back in the studio, but I'm glad we had this chat. By the way, we're recording in the same room as American Idol Clay Aiken...wow. :) I know I'm going to get made fun of for that. Talk to you soon...

ALSO...In case you haven't already heard, we're playing a show in Phoenix on Friday, December 19th...BE THERE and bring friends. I believe the show starts at 7pm, so be there and bring your cash to buy the newest in Sonburn merchandise including new t-shirt designs and hoodies (those are sweatshirts with hoods for those slightly older Sonburn fans). :)
BE THERE...

OK, there's a whole lot to talk about since it's been almost a week since my last post. We played a show in Ft. Worth on the 4th at a place called The Asylum. It was the smallest show of the tour but it was still pretty fun. There were probably about 30 people there total. :) It was interesting going from crowds that averaged about 2,000 to a small empty club.
Then we drove down to Austin, TX and played a concert on Saturday night. There were probably only 75 people there, but we sold out of our New Life CD's, all our girls shirts, and almost all the other shirts that we had left. I think we have 6 or 7 shirts left. :) That show was a blast and the crowd really liked us.
After that, we drove back up to Ft. Worth where we are staying until the 17th. Right now it's about 70 degrees and windy, so we're not as cold as we were in Nashville.

We will be tracking drums and bass for the last few songs at a studio called Max Media Studios in Dallas. We are going to check it out tonight and set up to play in their live sound room free of charge. A friend of ours is hooking us up, plus he wants to hear our new songs. In the meantime, we are finishing up guitars and backup vocals for the songs we already have tracked. We are recording those in the house we're staying at in the different rooms. It will be fun to experiment with different sounds in the different rooms and we have all the time we need.

I'll let you know how the studio looks and hopefully get a link up so you can see it.

Well, we're back in Nashville, but not for long. We are actually leaving for Dallas, TX tonight! We are playing a show there tomorrow and then another show in Austin on the 6th. After that, we will track the last 4 songs of the album at a studio in Dallas before we leave on the 17th. This means we have to say goodbye to Nashville and move on for the last leg of our trip. This move is going to save us a ton on travel and studio expenses and allow us to have our entire CD professionally mixed in Nashville after we record.

So to celebrate our last night in TN, we played a showcase for the A & R rep from Word Records and Warner Brothers and got to talk to them about signing us in the future. They liked our music and we will talk to them again as soon as they hear the CD. It was pretty encouraging and they let us know what they could do for us if/WHEN we get signed. :) Who knows what God has for us in the future, but we can't wait to finish this CD. We still expect the CD to be finished at the end of January and will be released late February.

Now it's off to play some shows so we can make some money so we can eat for the rest of our trip! Just a reminder...TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS TO COME TO OUR WELCOME HOME SHOW AT PHOENIX FIRST ASSEMBLY ON DECEMBER 19TH! We will be show in a video of our tour and recording project when we play so be there! Please keep us in your prayers as we're closing in on the end of our time here.
